From Marcia:

Happy Valentine’s Day!  I LOVE Valentine’s Day and I really like February!  January just doesn’t hold any interest for me and n.o.w that we’re into February—I feel sort of pre-springy!

What a crazy end of the year, huh?  Assuming your life was as wild as mine in November and December, I’m hoping you’ve had some time to sit back and breathe a huge sigh of, “Whew!”  I think I’m still exhaling!

The snowstorms here in Colorado haven’t been nearly as frequent or nearly as severe as last winter and I’m so thankful for that!  We’ve had a couple of doozies (having one as I speak, in fact) but nothing to compare to last year!  I’m happy to report Kevin has not once suffered from frostbite—so far!  Just keeping the ol’ fingers crossed!

I’m feeling very prolific as 2008 begins!  As of today, I’m only running about one week behind on my writing goals!  I have a ton of stories I need to get out of my head and I’m feeling fairly confident about staying on schedule and getting a four or five of them out this year!  What a relief that will be!

Which reminds me, SUPER DOOPER THANKS for all the wonderful feedback on The Whispered Kiss!  You know how nervous I get any time a n.e.w story comes out, and your fabulous response has settled me right down!  Thank you, so very much!  I’m glad you’re enjoying it!

Here’s hoping Valentine’s Day is very smoochie for you!  Warm, too, if you can manage it in your neck of the woods!

Love to You,

Marcia

N.e.w Story News!

The Whispered Kiss is finally here!  Pre-orders shipped last week, and readers are telling us they LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this story!  The very first reader response out of the gate was this:

“I just finished The Whispered Kiss and I loved it so much I cried!”

Readers are really enjoying the extended Author’s Note in the back of the book, too—in which Marcia provides us with some serious insight about her inspiration for the story.  A real bonus!  Marcia has done it again, showing us the importance of over-coming fear, bitterness and heartache, to find romance and true, true love.  Love it!

Also, watch for upcoming information about the cover art for The Whispered Kiss by artist Jared Barnes!  The story of Jared and Marcia’s meeting, and how Jared came to paint the beautiful rose for the cover of The Whispered Kiss, is wonderful!

Meanwhile, do visit http://www.jaredbarnes.com/epicart/index.asp or www.jaredbarnes.com to see more of Jared’s beautiful art work.

So, what’s next, Marcia?  Kissing Cousins?

From Marcia:

“Almost two years ago, three stories simultaneously erupted in my mind and began to haunt my dreams!  Of course they aren’t a trilogy or anything connected…but they hit me all at once and have been begging to get out ever since!  The first was the story of Jacey and Scott, whose lovable friend “Harbine,” captured everyone’s heart!  (I receive so many comments on Harbine…about his being such a favorite and beloved character.)  LoveMe turned out to be a reader favorite of 2006 and I was really happy to see that it was.

The second of the three was last spring’s, Daydreams, the story of Bo Booker and Sayler Christy…and readers also wrote telling me how much they enjoyed it!  The third book, a sort of sibling to the first two, is Kissing Cousins!  (It’s a verb-noun title, not an adjective-noun title…do you know what I mean?)  Kissing Cousins has been ricocheting around in my fevered brain as long as the other two, so it’s feeling really, really great to finish it up!  Kissing Cousins is the story of…oh, wait!  I can’t tell you that!  It will ruin the beginning!  Anyway, it’s the third “sibling” of the three and I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I do!  -- Yours, Marcia”

Excerpt From Kissing Cousins:

“It won’t change your life…” he said, his voice low and rich like a warm drink laced with molasses.  “And it sure won’t be the best kiss you’ll ever have,” he added.  Her body erupted into goose bumps as his thumb traveled slowly over her lower lip.  “But I’ll try to make it worth your time…”

The first edition of Dusty Britches is quickly going out-of-print!  Although we do hope to see Dusty Britches available again in a second edition format sometime in late spring or summer of 2008, the n.e.w edition will not include the foil/embossed title cover of the first edition.  We anticipate the first edition of Dusty Britches may be gone in as little as one week, so visit www.marcialynnmcclure.com today to order from our remaining stock of Dusty Britches-first edition.

Slight Cover Changes for SS and BFTS!

Just a little “F.Y.I.” for readers…If you already own the printed copy vxersions of Born for Thorton’s Sake and/or Sudden Storms, you will notice a difference in copies ordered in the near future.  Marcia requested some subtle changes to both covers.  Sudden Storms has already been updated and the changes for Born for Thorton’s Sake will be implemented soon.

Update on Marcia’s Sister…

From Marcia:

“First of all, thank you to everyone who has expressed concern and support for my sister as she continues to battle breast cancer.  So many of you have inquired as to her current status and condition and I’m happy to tell you that she’s doing better!  She just finished her last really rotten chemo and n.o.w faces radiation therapy and the other kind of chemo (which I can never remember how to pronounce) before she’s finished.  This will all take until about October or November of this year!  Yuck!  I hope to get out to Georgia in April to see her!  Wish me luck!

Thank you, again, for your caring support, thoughts and prayers.  Gratefully Yours, Marcia.”

Two Meet, Greet and Eats in August!

 From Marcia:

“Okay…let’s all just say it…last year’s Meet, Greet and Eat in Layton , Utah was CRAZY!  That horrible traffic coming north was a nightmare and I missed individual time with just too, too, too many friends!  Soooooooooo, this year…we’re branching out and trying a split—one Meet, Greet and Eat north of Salt Lake and one south of Salt Lake !  What do you think?  Also, the “Posse” (weren’t they adorable?!) came up with some other ideas to help things go more smoothly and give me more time with individual friends!  Therefore, I’m totally excited!  Let me know what you think, or send your own ideas to me at marcialmcclure@cs.com.  I also promise to try and remain calm so I don’t perspire like Elvis in concert!  I get so nervous!  If you have any suggestions for that, too…be sure and let me know!  Can’t wait to see you!  Guess I’d better get the photos from last year mailed, huh!  Yours, Marcia”
